Our Bundle of Blessing!
Much like the day of our wedding, we anticipated the 7th day of June for 9 eager months. June 7th came… and went. During the following days, we found ourselves opening our hands wider to God’s timing and what He wanted to teach us through the process called “overdue”. The early morning of June 19th, we awoke to the first time-able contractions. We also awoke to the words of this song about the God we serve: “He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength as the labors increase. To added affliction He addeth His mercy, to multiplied trials His multiplied strength.”
June 19th was our Prince Charles’ crowning day (pun intended!). As we drove to our mid-wife’s birthing center through the rolling country side, amidst the crouching ground fog and brilliant blue skies, our tears flowed, not from hard contractions but because our hearts could hardly contain what was about to happen. The morning passed fairly quickly, as we worked through Esther’s contractions together, with encouragement from gracious mid-wives at the birthing center. That noon Esther’s parents arrived to lend their prayerful support and encouraging presence. (Thanks so much, Daddy & Daryl!)
Esther: My husband was the very best encourager and coach hour after hour. In many ways he worked as hard as I did. Through my fatigue I would look up into his face to draw strength and it was there every time. Thank you darling, I couldn’t have done it without you!
With strength that God alone provided, thanks to the heartfelt prayers of so many family and friends, our delightful bundle and surprise, Charles William (lovingly named after William’s grandfather – Charles William Wolfgang) was born 4:31 p.m., June 19th, 2010. To God be the glory! Charles William now shares a birthday with his precious cousin, Caleb Nathaniel Hobbs, who turned a healthy 1, June 19th. What joy this added for us!
Our baby is so incredibly precious! We look forward to his upcoming formal dedication to God on July 4th.

I am SO THRILLEd!!! What a beautiful and precious gift! Esther, you are a trooper! Little Charles William is so blessed to have you all for parents and a godly heritage to follow.

Congratulations, William and Esther! I’ve been checking your website every day to see if there is any news, and finally today my checking was rewarded. Praising the Lord with you for the safe arrival of Charles William. He is so cute…what a sweet and joyful family. May Father bless you with wisdom and patience as you together train this precious child in His ways. May these words be true of him, “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.” Joshua 1:5
